By reading The Homly you accept the terms on this page. They are short and they are not unusual.
1. Photographs and credits
This matters more here than anywhere else on this page, so it goes first.
Most photographs on this site were taken by somebody else: a homeowner, a designer, a nursery, a photographer, a brand. Wherever the source is known, it is credited underneath the image and again in the credits list at the end of the post. Credit is given because it is owed.
If a photograph here is yours:
You can have the credit corrected, have a link added to your own site or shop, or have the image removed entirely. Email Elenadamon353@gmail.com and say which. You do not need to send a legal notice, prove ownership, or be polite about it. The usual turnaround is the same day.
The formal route also exists. A notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act should go to the same address and should identify the work, say where it appears on this site, give your contact details, state that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, and state under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or are authorised to act for them.
2. Everything else on the site
The written words, the layout, the structure and the site name belong to The Homly.
3. What you are welcome to do
Pin an image, provided the pin links back to the post it came from. Link to any post from anywhere. Quote a paragraph or two with a credit and a link. Print a page for your own use, or take it into a shop or a garden centre on your phone to show somebody what you mean.
4. What is not allowed
Republishing a whole post elsewhere, credited or not. Copying photographs into another site, feed or gallery as if they were yours. Removing credits from anything. Running scrapers, crawlers or bulk downloaders against the site. Using the content to train, fine tune or retrieve for a machine learning or generative AI system, at any scale. Copying the site’s design as your own. Implying that a brand, designer or nursery endorsed you when they did not.
5. Comments and submissions
Comments, where open, should stay civil and on topic. Promotion, abuse, spam and anything unlawful are deleted without discussion.
If you send in a photograph of your own room or garden, you confirm it is yours to send and you give permission to publish it here with a credit. You keep ownership. You can ask for it to be taken down later.
6. Affiliate links and sponsorship
Some links earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Some posts may be sponsored, and where that is the case it is stated in the post. Commission never determines what gets recommended. The Disclaimer covers this in full and forms part of these terms.
7. Links to other places
Links to shops, nurseries, makers and other sites are provided because they are useful. Once you follow one you are on somebody else’s site under their terms, and what happens there is outside this site’s control.
8. What is not promised
Everything here is provided as it is. There is no promise that the site will always be available, that every price or product is current, or that following an idea published here will give you a particular result in your own home or garden.
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Homly accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury or cost arising from your use of this site or from a decision you made after reading it. Some places do not allow limits like that, so it may not fully apply where you live.
If a claim is brought against this site because of something you did, such as submitting a photograph that was not yours, you agree to cover the resulting costs.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the site owner resides, without regard to conflict of law rules.
10. Changes
These terms may change. The version on this page is always the current one, and the last updated date at the top shows when it moved. Continuing to use the site means accepting the current version.
